In February 2002, Nissan released the new March (“Micra” in Europe) following the last full model change in 1992. The new March is the third-generation model. It features superior driving ease and is environmentally friendly. All grades have been certified as ultra-low emission vehicles (U-LEV) in Japan. Both a Telematics service-compatible terminal and a new keyless entry system are standard equipment. Nissan recently added an electric 4WD model to the March lineup. In the 4WD system, an electric motor, housed beneath the rear luggage space, powers the rear wheels, while the front wheels are driven by the engine.
